Two Crises, No Back Burner
The Washington Post ^ | 12/31/2002 | Samuel R. "Sandy" Berger and Robert L. Gallucci

The rapid escalation of the nuclear issue by North Korea -- at a critical moment in our confrontation with Iraq -- requires that we deal with both developing crises at once. There are no safe back burners....

We face a challenging moment, with a great deal at stake both in Iraq and North Korea. The future of each lies in the hands of its leaders -- but we can shape their choices. We cannot deal with one now and wait to deal with the other later. Firmness is essential, but rigidity is likely to drive our allies away from us, not toward a common stand.

Uhhh, Mr. Berger, perhaps this has something to do with Clinton not taking care of foreign policy for eight years.

Dear Sandy Can't-Get-A-Man's-Name Booger;

The rats lost for good reason. So give it up with the looney-left talking points already, and try to get behind America for once in your life.

Let me get this straight. As long as clinton was president, it was OK to postpone it for eight years and leave it to the next guy to clean up. Now that Bush is president, he has to deal with clinton's mess RIGHT NOW.

If Clinton hadn't appointed a felon as his National Security Adviser, things might have gone better.

This article demonstrates just how incompetent the Clinton administration truly was. Berger claims we have to do something now, we need to "engage" the North Koreans. We need to convince them to do all sorts of things. And, we need to do it NOW! Typically, other than "engaging" the North Koreans, Mr. Berger offers no suggestions as to how we get the NKs to agree to any of the steps he claims are necessary. Typical Clinton BS.

Firmness is essential, but rigidity is likely to drive our allies away from us, not toward a common stand...

This from a party and a President who enabled North Korea by agreeing to a joke of a treaty and never enforced it AND aided Saddam Hussein's weapons program by NEVER INSISTING ON THE RETURN OF INSPECTORS AFTER THEY WERE THROWN OUT DURING THEIR WATCH!

Liberals are sickening, aren't they? Just one reason I am happily a
