My scenario: She saw the burglary in progress and got involved somehow. The burglers snatched her and got away. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure she's dead. Such a sad story.

I think they should be checking around the country for women who weren't pregnant who suddenly have new babies -- even women who may have thought they were adopting through legitimate channels.

That was my first thought, too. That someone wanted the baby. I remember a gruesome case where a woman who was desperate for a baby abducted a pregnant woman, then performed a C-section using her car keys as a scalpel.

But I don't remember hearing that the husband was the last person to see her when I first heard the breaking news last week. I thought that he was already out of town when she disappeared.

And last night on the Greta Von Sustern show the father-in-law said that she was mopping the floor when he left. I think that maybe she was mopping, then going to walk the dog, then maybe made a quick stop to a sporting goods store for a Christmas present and came back to confront burglars, either across the street or about to enter her own home.
