Keep your fingers out of my eye...
I absolutely love "The Lamb", it is still my all-time favorite album. Tony Bank's cross-handed intro to the title track is still the most hauntingly beautiful piece of music I have ever heard, and his solos on "Riding The Scree" and "In the Cage" still make my hair stand on end. To me the Lamb isn't so much about the lyrics or the story, it is absolutely some of the best music that came out of the entire "Prog" era. Unlike most 70s-era prog, the Lamb still sounds as fresh today.
I still hold out that maybe one day, I can see a recreation of that '74 show. Maybe Steve, Mike and Tony could collaborate with another singer (I can't see Gabriel in his 50s playing Rael anymore, and as for Phil, yeah right!!) to restage the show for its 30 year anniversary. Oh well, I can dream, can't I?
