What the Heck Is a 'Neocon'?

Neoconservatives believe in using American might to promote American ideals abroad.

I have been called many names in my career--few of them printable--but the most mystifying has to be "neocon." I suppose I get labeled thus because I am associated, in a small way, with the Weekly Standard, which is known as a redoubt of "neoconservatism."

A long time ago, I asked this question, and I got a weird variety of answers, not to mention being yelled at for just asking. Personally, the key word to me is conservative.

Democracy, you insulted Ann Coulter, you better have two asbestos suits on because you are about to get flamed faster than a Lincoln supporter on a neo-Confederate thread.

Neos have gotten most of what they want from the domestic agenda except for education/school vouchers, and failing to put a stake in the heart of unprincipled quotas. Thus foreign policy is viewed as where the action is at present. But to suggest that Neos don't care about domestic policy is silly. Neos are internationist, period. They are not paranoid about international institutions. They tend to look forward to the US dominating them, actually. True liberty can only arise from intelligent restraint and restaints. It is a balancing act, that needs to be measured one public policy decision at a time. Macro concepts are not very helpful where the rubber meets the road.

Kissenger is a Neo in good standing on foreign policy. I admire him.

Just because Coulter looks Aryan, does not make her a neo-Nazi. I know you are just trolling for replies, so I thought I would help feed you insatiable hunger.

From PaleoCons to Classical Liberalism (which of course today are often conservative values, go figure that one) to Country Club Republicans to NeoCons - if you have to ask, you are probably not in that camp :)

Have you noticed how much in common the paleocons have with the nihilistic loony-left anti-globalists?
