I remember from an interview with Mrs. Bush last year that she said that they followed the lead of the first President and Mrs. Bush in spending Christmas Day at Camp David.
That way, the Secret Service agents and staff could spend at least part of Christmas Day with their families in the DC area. They always go to Crawford the day after Christmas.
I find this touching and considerate. A small thing, true, but it speaks volumes about them.
And what else they did this year was to invite all of the Camp David staff and their families to have Christmas dinner there. They planned to stop by to say hello.
They don't just talk about families - they do everything they can to support them.
