Clinton is eager to tell his story Says writing memoirs is a way to 'come to terms' By Bob Minzesheimer USA TODAY
Bill Clinton, who's getting nearly $12 million for his memoirs, says everyone eventually should write his or her life story.
''Everybody talks about how terrible this book-writing is. I've enjoyed it,'' the former president tells C-SPAN in an interview to be shown Sunday (6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET/ 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. PT).
''Everyone who is fortunate enough to have lived to be 50 should sit down at some point and write the story of his or her life, even if it is just for yourself, your children, your family.''
It's important, Clinton says, ''to try to come to terms with the life you lived and think about how you wish to spend whatever years are remaining.''
Clinton, who says he's working without a ghostwriter, aims to submit

''Everybody talks about how terrible this book-writing is. I've enjoyed it,'' the former president tells C-SPANWhat a surprise. He failed, already in the interview, in his proclaimed quest to not sound 'self-serving'.
He says "everybody talks about how terrible this book-writing is" just to tee up his self-aggrandizing "I've enjoyed it" pat on the back.
Ack.

From the article:
"Clinton, who says he's working without a ghostwriter, aims to submit a ''publishable draft'' by August. That's two months after the tentative publication date for the memoir of his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. (She got $8 million.)"
Do you suppose they'll go on a book tour together, a la Al and Tipper? What a sight that will be!

Billdo also was asked directly , at a news conference, (I saw on TV news) 1995 or 96 ?? "Who hired Craig Livingstone"?. Bildo said,"I don't know, but I will get back with you with the information". HE NEVER DID!! He LIED cus he knew the answer==Hitlery hire Livingstone, as she was good friends with his Craigs' mother for one thing. Anybody else remember this...and who was reporter who asked question. I would like to find out and ask him to re-submit the question to Billdo!

I know. My sister has a copy of "It Takes a Village."
I love her - she's my sister - but I don't understand how we could have grown up in the same household.

I think it will do even more poorly than Al Gore's book, if that's possible. Please! Let it be so.

I wonder if the "Counter Clinton Library" will carry the book? Another question would be will the Counter Clinton Library produce a Counter Clinton book? Something that takes every sentence and paragraph that is written and counters it with the "truth".
Now I WOULD buy that book.

Shhh, don't tell anyone, but the cat has glimpsed the first few sentences of this upcoming literary classic:
"I wuz born a poor black chile! Whilst them white folks like Michael Jackson had all them advantages and then on top of that came ridin' and burnin' our churches to the ground, we wuz near starvin'. My brother and I had a big family and many uncles visited Momma every night to help us get along..."
... to be continued.

No, I don't expect to see them touring together. Despite my low opinion of the Gores I will concede they seem to be genuinely fond of each other. With Bill and Hill in close proximity the possibility he'd have to explain a sudden lump on the head as he makes a scheduled book-hawking appearance would be very likely. Besides, she would cramp his style as he travels about. Plus there is that sharing the limelight distaste they both have.
I'm sure both of them will have obvious lies in their respective tomes, but I won't hold my breath waiting for the Katie Courics of the world to focus in on such trivialities.
Good post, btw.

Due to the extrodinary success of concerned citizens everywhere that closed their Morgan Stanley accounts after they paid clinton a $100,000 speaking fee, I have a new proposal.
Just who or what publisher wants to print copies of Clintons book ? What is it worth to them in lost sales ? Will bookstores be willing to stock this trash ?
We have the power. Morgan Stanley got hit bad and Smith & Wesson is under new management.

LMAO
This breifly went through my mind when I wrote my post but it did not fit with the tone of the rest of the post.
But I am glad you thought of it and posted. Somebody has to post a Lewinski referance to every Clintoon thread. It's tradition.

Clinton, who says he's working without a ghostwriter Sorry, I don't believe it. Between jetting around the world, giving $100,000 speeches, and pursuing women, I don't think he has the time or the attention span to right anything.
Hillary ghosted all her books--but she refused to give her ghost writers any credit. I imagine bill will do the same thing. They are both inveterate liars.

I did a google to find the publisher. It's Knopf, which is a subsidiary of Random House.

I expect that he will be disappointed in the sales of the thing. I suspect that he believes his elections were due to his sterling qualities of character, scintillating personality, and gravitas. He's underestimating the number of bums, deviates, moochers, and spongers that voted for him to stick his hand in decent people's pockets and extract $$$ and give it to them. Now that he can't do that, will they buy hs book? BTW it's a comfort that his lying and conniving never got him more than 49%.

Here is the basic theme of the Clinton book:
It's ALL the fault of those rightwing Republicans!
