The author has managed to talk with scores of Bonesmen who have revealed what the society is really about. She reveals for the first time who has been a member and what is involved with being a member. The flyleaf states "It is a provocative exploration of our collective obsession with conspiracy and connection".

Carefull about the fraternity part. They are a secret society or club or group or whatever, but they are not a frat. George W. Bush was a member, but he was also in a fraternity called DKE, his father was in a fraternity, I'm not sure if its the same one. Ronald Reagan was in TKE. Several U.S. presidents were in skull and bones, but personally, I don't think thats a big deal. When your dealing with an elite college, and elite students, and then an elite group, it shouldn't be a surprise when the members succeed.

The question I have is if the book was written in time to smooth the way for Kerry by changing the old impression of this being a sinister organization.

Nearly all of the conspiracy theories about Skull and Bones is debunked in this book, which should come as no surprise to most of us. We should emloy this author once again: nearly 11% of American populous believes that Moon landing was a hoax perpetraetd by NASA.

Yeah - can you believe those people? All those NASA control people have just lied about there really being a moon landing. Jeez.

Bush 41 is also a DKE. So is Dan Quayle...now there is a conspiracy. :-)

Most of these guys were in fraternities or in the free masons and or skull and bones, I don't think it means anything. Successfull politicans network, they build up and or join social organizations from high school and or college on. You'll find some far extreme left wingers who see something and jumped to conspiracy theories, but its not really a big deal.

Even if there's no conspiracy in any formal sense, should the fact that Kerry and maybe other Democrats were part of the same secret society as many Republicans raise any questions about how opposed they really are to each other? Do they see eye-to-eye more often than their public statements may indicate? Just curious.
