Dan, she didn't like the battling part of FOTR, and TTT seems like more of that so she thinks she might not like it. Not everyone does like epic-war movies, especially women.

Patriciaruth, Half of the movie storyline is war epic, but half of it is continuing Frodo's journey, so if you liked that part of the story, you may enjoy the movie in part anyway. Even the battle sequences have a lot of human element in them. Give it a shot.

Hair, if she can watch the epic saga of love and devotion and bravery and sacrifice and heroism and good vs. evil, and cluelessly dismiss it as three hours of dark and bloody battles, she doesn't have what it takes to appreciate TTT. And a great deal besides.

PR, if that's how you see movies, save your money, and save us having to hear your complaints.
