Maybe Mel Gibson can't find a distributor, but I think there's a large amount of excitement about this movie. I've seen lots of publicity already and they haven't even finished filming. There' going to be a many people lined up to buy tickets as soon as this thing opens.

This will be the greatest movie of all time -- both spiritually and artistically -- if they can succeed in what they're attempting. So far all the buzz has been that they're succeeding beyond what they had even hoped for.

Thank God for a man like Mel Gibson. What courage and what vision.

(One caveat about the article: Medjugore? Please. Oh well, we should be grateful that there are at least a couple of faithful Catholics like Gibson and Caviezel in Hollywood.)

Much of the script, which Gibson co-wrote, is based on the diaries of St. Anne Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824) as collected in the book The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Venerable Anne Catherine Emmerich was an Augustian nun who lived in Germany.  She lived between 1774 to 1824.  During her life, God gave her extensive visions of the past, the present and the future.  Many theologians believe that she received from God more visions than any other saint.  The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ are the visions of Anne Catherine Emmerich concerning the Last Supper, the Agony in the Garden, the Arrest, the Scourging , the Crucifixion and the Ressurection of Jesus Christ.   They are highly detailed and highly descriptive revealing to us more information about the Life of Jesus Christ besides what we read of Him in the Bible.

DOLOROUS PASSION OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST

Definitely bookmark material.

All previous attempts to portray "the greatest story ever told" have been disappointments in one way or another. If he can pull this off there is no question it will be the most important film ever made.
