Following your logic, we should only adhere to our principles if by doing so we advance our cause.

Following your interpretation of what you think I said, you didn't read carefully enough.

and YOU can see whether a person has repentance in their hearts or not? KEWL!

how does it feel to be holier than God? Must be so special.

GET out of the party. WE do NOT need your kind.
Faithful supporters do not let babies die, just so they can wreak their version of "vengeance is mine, saith the holy rollers" on fellow sinners.

Every time you fail to vote for the more conservative candidate, another dozen or two babies are partial birth aborted...

We get the government we deserve.
Bon apetite!

yup...

anything to maintain that sense of smug self-righteousness...
pharisees are blind, Jesus said so.

They kill the child, to punish the adulteror....

Jane did not care... but the folks at our church went ballistic.

Having a formerly "unfaithful man" who for whatever reason broke his covenant was too much for them. They stayed home en masse for his FIRST run for office. AFTER he did what he did for the conservative movement, they REALLY backed him big time.

AFTER four years of reagan, the CHRISTIAN coalition became noteworthy, but not really so at the first election. He won the first election, due to the "misery factor" and the "bear in the woods" evil empire stuff... statistically.

Of course, the CC folks take credit for BOTH, but they were not THE factor in the first election and most did NOT participate in electing a KNOWN DIVORCED MAN against a professing born again "holy roller" type... Carter was a baptist SS school teacher...

And MOST evagelicals either stayed home, or voted for CARTER...

NOW they talk like REAGAN was their idea.
They deny his libertarian leanings... and act like they CREATED the man.

Marrying a "MUCH YOUNGER woman who is over thirty" doesn't really mean so much to me. H's old wife did not want him or his political life. Some democrats used it as a wedge issue successfully to get that seat.. and the ones they manipulated religiously the duped ones, who now don't want to admit THEY are the problem...

They voted for the "born again" bill clinton too, the first time... he was baptist and a professing christian so called... and algore wrote letters attacking ALL forms of abortion.

Clinton got a lot of evangelical, pro life votes the first time through, and after his move to the left, carved out his plurality reelection (not a true majority in the sense of fifty percent plus one vote) the second time around using a triangulation method that was fueled by moderates and lefties....

we need to jettison the more extreme elements of the "holier than thous" if we are ever going to turn back the tide of socialism and moral decline... WE have to vote for the lesser of two evils, consistantly, or we will never gain and keep useful political power. The religious crowd doesn't want to get, or cannot figure this out... and it costs us LIVES, DOLLARS and our place of leadership in this world...

who needs them?
Not me.
