I told you all so, didn't I? You were all so focused on Lott, you didn't take time to understand it was never ABOUT Lott.

Whoever is the Republican leader in the Senate is in for a major Opposition Research operation, headed by Carville and those stooges.

By this time next month, public opinion polls will reflect that Bill Frist is as bad a "racist" as Trent Lott ever was.

Just wait: The questions are already rolling out of the mouths of the usual suspects: "Isn't it true that the Republican party has a serious problem with minorities? Isn't it true that Republican opposition to expanding affirmative action shows that they are the party of racism and bigotry?"

YaddaYadda.

Yeah, Lott is partly at fault, but the story actually didn't get legs until about three or four days after the Thurmond birthday party, when some "civil rights leaders," having received their marching orders from the DNC, began calling up reporters and pointing it out.

The press started the ball rolling and the Republican Keystone Kops have done most of the dirty work after that.

Sorry Lott isn't partly at fault, he's screwed up all of it. A first class moron.

I'm shocked, so shocked, that race baiting is so common. Evidently the only one who didn;t know that we're at war with leftists that engage in it was that dumba$$ Lott!

Now how can he be running things being so dumb.

Calm down - first of all, those of us correctly wanting Lott out never said it would quiet the Dems, understand? The libs played this game long before Lott, and certainly they will afterwards. I will guarantee you right now that the Dems won't succeed in painting Frist, Bush or the GOP as a whole as racists. They are overreaching and trying to now salvage an issue that blew up in their face. They would play this game whether Lott stayed or went, so how does ridding the Senate leadership of a boob hurt the GOP agenda? And the Pubs now have more media strength to handle these bums.

THANK YOU THANK YOU! For putting it into words I could'nt have! That's exactly what I've been HOPPING MAD about all morn, only to have Freepers flame me at every corner! I saw this coming a few wks ago, when the liberal media WHORES were doing a full press on Lott, I knew the pubs were going to cave in to them...as usual. Their plan worked perfectly. This is only the beginning of the MISERABLE RATS agenda! They weren't gunning for Empty LOTT, they are going for the BIGGER PRIZE!

Illbay, the RATS and the media had a gameplan for whatever happened. It's as simple as that. I'm sure they had a plan against any Republican that took over the ML spot and a plan for if Lott survived. I'll take Frist. He is a good man and he will shut down the RAT spewing in time.

Yep! "In the last election 92% of blacks supported the democratic candidates...isn't that proof that the GOP is the party of rich, white bigots? " I can hear it now and we brought it on ourselves.

It wasn't about Lott, it was all about smearing the GOP as racist and the way some in our party hopped right out and did the 'Rats bidding you just know we're gonna see alot more of this.

"Isn't it true that the Republican party has a serious problem with minorities? "

Kind of makes you wonder if their internal polls were showing that the Republicans are making headway with minorities.

Of course it was about Lott. What YOU don't understand is that many of us had a problem with what Lott did, REGARDLESS of what the libs said or thought.

Calm down and give it a chance. Dems' BS demonizing doesn't have the legs it used to. Heck... dems had a depiction of Bush pushing an elderly woman off a cliff, and it was shown on news outlets. What happened in the election? The dems LOST elderly voters by 5 points!

If they keep pushing this, it'll backfire. People are catching onto them.

Doubtful. My bet is that by this time next week those same polls will reveal that the majority of the electorate resents this blatant attempt by the Dems to jam the race card their throats. The American people are wise to this game by now.
