What are Alabama's CCW laws like. A loaded gun in the passenger compartment is illegal in most states. I approve of the mans actions, but in todays America I'm surprised he's not in jail for saving his own life.

I approve of the mans actions, but in todays America I'm surprised he's not in jail for saving his own life. I have noticed that most often, when one defends their life, even though they comitted a crime by having a weapon illegaly concealed they are not chraged with the crime.
Think back to the shooting at the school dance in PA a few years back. A teacher ran to his car, off campus, to retrieve his gun. He subdued the shooter and was praised as a hero. Some started making rumblings about his bringing a firearm onto school grounds, a gun free zone. The police told those asking for prosecution to stuff it.

Bama ccw laws allows you to have a loaded weapon in the vehicle. Even before I had a ccw permit I'd carry the weapon in the vehicle. When stopped by a police officer, all you have to do is let the officer know you have a weapon in the vehicle and they'll not harass or bother you. Well other than give you a speeding ticket! Just tell them you've got a weapon so they won't be surprised and no problem!

A loaded gun in the passenger compartment is illegal in most states. Some states treat your car as a natural extension of your house. Nevada, for example, allows anyone to carry loaded guns inside their car under this principle, and I know people that have a loaded gun on the passenger seat when they drive. No paperwork required. When it is sitting on the seat, it isn't concealed carry.
