Merry Widow (what they used to call it before bustier), garter belt, stockings. There are books of price comparisons for Barbie collectables that will have pictures of them. And the lingerie seen above is more modest than the bikinis she's worn. I think the upset parents ought to choose a better battle.

Seems that this description was used by the promoters of the latest lingerie doll. Words do matter. Perhaps no one knows it today, but the "Merry Widow" was an early 1900s term for a slut.

The only difference between the Merry Widow and a prostitute was that the Widow gave it up for free.
