I finally found the cartoon and the website that inspired the above protest.
Jeff, if you're out there, Al Gore knows of it now for sure. That photo was outside his book signing in Arlington.

I did that cartoon live at Gore's book signing in Alexandria. Had a camo BDU shirt and a helmet. On the back was the memo with a knife sticking out. Held a sign "AL GORE STABBED OUR TROOPS IN THE BACK".
