"I certainly hope President Bush never has to apologize for anything....He is know to expect loyalty, but he hasn't shown any in this case whatsoever." I agree, and am surprised (not in a good way).
The president can end this simply by saying he accepts Lott's apology. Not to do so may well mean the president is playing (the wrong) politics with this issue...and he's going to get burned...big time.
What a mess.

It is over TLB. Take your marbles and go home.

Tigers are such powerful animals.
Hey, could I get you to take out a few more while you're at it? ;-)

You were supposed to topple Daschle
Didn't you hear about the last election?
Lott is such an ingrate, no Christmas card this year.

"You obviously don't know him. Senator Nickles always measures twice, cuts once." Wow, what a great line! May I borrow it in the future?
As for Nickles, his actions are too self-serving and poorly timed. The cut he inflicted was to himself (IMHO).

Nickles, and Frist both have outstanding ratings with ACU.
Nickles 100% in 2000, 92% in 2001.
Frist 92% in 2000, 100% in 2001.

Funny that Torie names the ones that she did...
Funny that since you're always right, you didn't know that Torie's wife is a woman.

But Bush did accept it and it appears not good enough for many, who have their own agendas at work. The agendas you can't do a thing about, but you can sure watch who overreaches ,and who plays it cool.
And the other thing is that we on FR are so out of the loop its lauughable. All this talk is for naught ;-)
To: Right_in_Virginia
He sure will. He needs to speak now not in another few days.

Who was responsible for Louisiana then (2002 was a VERY busy year in Wisconsin)?
I wonder what Lott and company would have done to worm their way back to the minority had we gotten to 52?
To: Sabertooth
I have always said a M or a W by the names would solve that problem.

"You think President Bush might be reading from Rove's script??? This is a truly shocking statement to me......He believes in his Christian beliefs!! He was angry, it showed, and it was real." I don't doubt the President was angry...and for the most righteous of reasons.
But, after publically rebuking Lott for his stupid statement...AND saying he (the President) believes Lott is not a racist; is it Christian not to accept Lott's apology and support him...or is it political?
You tell me.

I got you some Christmas presents to rearrange.

Rove, who wouldn't come up with my overtime.

The "White House backing Frist" came from a quote earlier in this (or was it another?) thread. Too much "fog of war" right now for me to refind that quote or double-check it's accuracy. If it was specious, then my money's on McConnell.

Is politics to you about being thought of by yourself and others as morally superior? No.
Is that what it is to you?
To: cerberus
If it was to me, would i have asked YOU that question?
You are clueless.
To: Sabertooth
fresh from the rats mouths You are doing a great job for them! Keep up the good work...
When Told That the Gore story would be the big news the rats say.......
Off the front page - not in your dreams. Today's talking head shows were Trenchmouth Trenchmouth Trenchmouth. After Nickles spoke up today, Monday will only be more Trenchmouth and racism in the repub party.
