Did anyone hear Cal Thomas After Hours tonight? He phrased a question to Harold Ford about Lott. Instead of saying the direct quote of Lott ("I want to say this about my state. When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either." he added the Segregationist Dixicrat Party in the question to Ford.

A lot of conservatives wanted Lott gone before this; it stems from impeachment.

If he would just quit running his mouth, the whole thing will blow over.

You know, the more I look at Lott's comment -- even without the segregationist Dixiecrat party addition -- I just want to scream: Get the h*ll out!
It is a comment that simply cannot be defended. Period.

The presstitutes know that the statements made by Lott are pretty tame in themselves and need to be spiced up a bit in order to create the desired level of outrage.
How it serves Thomas to do so I can only guess, but I thought he was an honest broker.

I've heard so many times on the radio hourly reports I've lost count, that Lott "said that the country would have been better off if Strom Thurmond's segregationist Dixiecrat Party had won the 1948 election" or words to that effect, attributing an explicit reference to segregation to Lott.

Your answer lies in the fact that Cal Thomas is not much of a conservative anymore.
In his book "BLinded By the Right" he calls on Christians to stop trying to change society and to simply concentrate on "spiritual" things.
I have never heard him address the question of what he plans on doing with all of the speaking fees [$8000 per speech] that he has received over the years from Right to Life and pro-family groups. I think he should return the money, but I am not holding my breath.
