I never saw the guy who does Bush on Leno. I think Will Farrell's is really weak. He's a funny guy, but I just don't see Bush.
I still think Norm McDonald's Dole was one of the all-time greats. It wasn't even very accurate, it was just hysterically funny.

I watched the Algore skits only because I saw mention here of it. Who was that Puerto Rican acting chick? Was that supposed to be funny? The answer to the first question is Rachel Dratch, I believe.

At first I wondered why they didn't bring back Will Farrell as President Bush for one sketch like they did with other SNL stars who left. They probably didn't want to overshadow Al Bore.

I recall seeing the singer from REM in a skit. Keith Richards too, although he may have been the host that week too.

"At least Gore is a good sport about it all. " More likely just the most recent re-creation as the Al who can laugh at himself and be a good sport. That oval office scene is probably much closer to the REAL Al than he would ever admit.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you again, but Hammond doesn't do Bush on the show. First it was Will Ferrell, now it's Chris Parnell.
And I've always thought of the guy on Leno as more of an impersonator than an impressionist, but I'm probably not qualified to judge. I switch the channel if Leno starts making fun of Bush.

Hopefully they understand that it isn't about who is the better actor. Hopefully they understand that being a good fake doesn't make you a good President. Hopefully they figured that out with Clinton. The honorable Ronald Reagan *holdshisheart* was an exceptional human, an exceptional leader, and an exceptional president. He also acted.

I thought it was Maya Rudolph. You might be right. Either of them could have done it with enough make up.

What did they have to say about Tipper. Looks like she put on much more weight that Al did.

I don't watch SNL except when I know that something like this is going to be on. It stopped being funny about the time Jim Belushi, Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd and those guys left. Mostly corn and sleaze and has been for some time. As far as the guy on Leno, I don't know what I'd call him, but he's really good at what he does. I guess he really is more of an impersonator, but he's darned funny.

The closing shot with the cast on the stage with Tipper wearing a short leather jacket did not flatter her. Not at all.

I was busy posting, but I believe you're right it was Maya Rudolph, Gwenneth Paltrow's childhood buddy. Maya's mom is someone famous, was it Minnie Ripperton?, someone like that.

"Will Maxine Waters and the Congressional Black Caucus condemn Al Gore for trivializing this situation??" Are you kidding? They're Rats. They can say anything and get away with it.

The closing shot with the cast on the stage with Tipper wearing a short leather jacket did not flatter her. Not at all. Perhaps Lorne Michaels wanted to put a final joke on them. :)
To: CanisMajor2002
Hey, I don't know Lorne Michaels' politics, but he has made me laugh many times in the past 27 years.
