Republican senators with the most testosterone need to sit Lott down and have a good talk with him. They should say that he will be able to stay and they will support him, but it is time for him to be a strong leader. Do not get along with Daschle. Do not get along with Leahy. Do not get along with Satan's Daughter. We need to bury those bastards. If you display some strong leadership, you can stay.

Doug, some on this forum speculate that the Democrats started this rucus so that the Republicans would be forced to keep Lott in a leadership position.

Do you think these testosterone laden folks are going to be able to mold the character with a political leadeship IQ of about 60?

dfu, how come your pal Slick Willie hasn't opened his yap yet about this manufactured firestorm surrounding Lott?

BTW, I have accepted Lott's apology and have moved on already.

I could go along with that in theory, but there is one critical matter.

He needs to quit playing with the SCV and other neo Confederate groups. No appearances, no statements in support, not so much as a whisper of anything. He needs to forget the name of Jefferson Davis, and he should honor nothing Confederate.

As far as I'm concerned, further "historical honoring" is akin to segregationist attitudes and needs to stop.
