Who do you suggest replace Lott.

Frist, Nickles, or the guy from Kentucky (now 2nd in command). Dont like any of those choices, then Jim Talent of Missouri. He will be in the leadership in a few years. He wrote the Welfare Reform bill when he was in congress.

So now you have DEMANDED my choice, whose yours, David Duke? Sorry he never got elected, did he?

Give me a break.

I just thing complaining about a leader when there is only 50 possible replacements calls on you to name a possible replacement.

Oh that it could be anyone in the country then my preference would be Jeb Bush.

I have seen little leadership qualities from those other Senators. Nickles a little perhaps but he was able to drum up little support when he tried.

Regardless of how little I like Lott. If he steps down we need a strong replacement or we shoot ourselves in the foot.

I do not believe secondly that these remarks were NOT worthy of the punishment many here suggest. However most here have wanted Lott gone for a long time so I am not surprised.

We must still have a long way to go to make black people comfortable in society as a whole. Racial Separation does seem to be a continuing problem in the United States. Everywhere I go the blacks seem to like to be in their own communities, have their own events, nightclubs etc. They are not forced to but still do this. I live near UMES. I could get a minority grant there if I applied. There are many other Black Colleges. These colleges are that way because black choose to continue go there.

Lott did rattle me quite a bit when he talked about all the blacks he had hired. This makes me wonder if he did it just to make him appear to be non-racist. Maybe he really doesnt understand that we now need to work on making all people feel welcome in our society so blacks need no longer have their own neighborhoods, nightclubs etc. That would however require the minimum wage be increased to at least $10.00 / hour so these poor people could have a chance to better themselves. This is where the Republican party goes so far wrong. Keeping the minimum wage down so low is another form of slavery. We will always lose the black vote until it is raised.
