Actually, this represents a 100% repudiation of French socialist ideals, to wit, compulsory secular public education. 10-20 years ago, the French socialists were banning Muslim women from wearing headscarfs because they were religious symbols; now they are funding religious schools. They have followed the lead of the American left: they have abandoned their integrationist dogmas, and replaced them with "multi-culturalist" dogmas. A complete reversal, or surrender, of their earlier ideals. That's what they get for fighting the right over the immigration issue! France might degenerate into an Islamic third world hell hole, but at least the French can be "proud" that they voted against Le Pen!
