How about making reality-based suggestions.

It goes like this:

1. Hammer them on "selective moral outrage." Don't let them get away with the excuse that they never portrayed themselves as moral leaders.
2. Point out the "shrill voices" that keep picking on Lott while ignoring all the other more aggregious incidents.
3. Point out the media that feed the frenzy against Lott while trying to claim that no Liberal Bias exists in the newsrooms.
4. Point out who it is that is playing "politics of personal destruction" with a "destruction machine."
5. Keep pointing out the hypocrisy of Democrats accusing Republicans of what they themselves are doing.
6. Point out the hypocrisy of Democrats defending ethically-challenged members with "We have to let the people of ________ decide his fate" while instantly calling for Republicans to resign.
7. Go to 1.

The public has been watching how the Democrats operate. If they can be shown that the accusations are really a selective attempt at more Democrat power-grabbing by any means necessary, they will buy it. They have already seen the Democrats dance on Paul Wellstone's grave, overturn New Jersey election law, and blame the media and voters for their November loss. They can be made to see this as more desperation attacks on the incoming majority.

All the Democrats have to offer is fear. The people turned away from that in November. They want leadership. It is time for Republicans to lead and forget about the shrill cries from the Democrats.

You and I know these things...

And I agree to a point. However Sean Hannity is up there whining like a caught-red-handed Arab Terrorist who now wants to wine about the other side before dealing with his own problems [imho]. That to me is what it sounds like.

I personally think that Lott is a moron and for that alone I dont think he should be leading the Senate but with that said...I also believe he is a bit of a closet bigot.

His track record of making remarks [that are required to be taken in context] that also happen to offend "commonsense" Black people is becoming evident. And for that also...he needs to go.

I personally would draw it out a bit more and allow the Liberals to make some deeper and shriller comments...comments that go beyond the pale and will stick in Americans minds.

Then let'em have lot in an orgy of hate.

The first impression is [for Liberals] that they won.

In all truth...they would've helped to further expose themselves and lost.

But with all of that said...

Had Lott not made remarks that any competent Conservative would've known not to make, then the door to this wouldnt have opened.

Some people are too emotionally involved in this discussion. They are the individuals who give fuel to Liberals because when you think emotionally instead of cerebrally you make mistakes.

I'd encourage anyone to ask themselves...

If this situation had never have happened, would you want Trent Lott being the face of what we do over the next two years? Would you have trusted him to handle the Senate in a Conservative manner? Would you have trusted him not to make backdoor deals that kept Liberals alive?

If you let the Liberals eat him alive in front of the Nation then you are killing two birds with one stone.

Liberals will always interpret it their way...but those who tend to operate more towards the center will be repulsed by the Democrats and their lack of discretion and grace[imho].

This is chess not checkers.
