Yes. March '86, it seemed it would never stop coming down. The brown water on the American River(this river is never brown) was within five feet of the top of the levees near downtown Sacramento. Brush floating downstream appeared to be making about 30-35mph.

If I'm not mistaken, we had high water on Valentine Day and then on Washington's birth day weekend we really had the flood gates open. Then in March we had another bad episode.

We found an underground dry creek under our house during that time period. That cost me a few bucks in fixing foundations and routing the water around.
