I'm back. We just had a very close lightning strike. Sitting at 9.6 inches for the storm now.

Santa Cruz County has enormously variable weather both seasonally and by location. The record minimum rainfall for Watsonville in 1975-76 was 8.49"; the record maximum was in Boulder Creek in 1889-90: 124.7".

I saw that on the weather channel an hour ago. Also showed Cloverdale with 17 inches and Napa at nine. My gauge is showing 2.2 since 7 am today. Honeydew inthe Kings range can get 200 inches a year and Gasquet on the Smith River can get 244 inches a year. I guess it has to do with the topography.

I get KTVU 2 10 pm news out of Oakland on cox cable and they showed Cazadaro had 82 MPH winds and Pigeon Point 81. Reno set an all time high wind at 82 and above Tahoe gusts to 115 MPH. WOW...
