Unless Mannix moves to the right on taxes, his leadership will do nothing for Oregon or the national ticket. We'll have to wait and see if he realizes how much his liberal attitude toward taxes hurt him in the governor election.

Agreed. Hopefully, he has learned from his defeat. I think he's a good guy, and can do a good job, as long as he understands that the GOP has to stand for fiscal discipline if it is to compete against the Democrats in this state.

Uh oh.... sounds like this guy is some kind of "moderate" scumbag. Is he a RINO?

We need some rain to open up our rivers and streams to the steelhead out in the ocean so they can get upstream and not be eaten by the protected seals.

The water is so clear and low on Putah Creek you have to fish with size 20 to 22 flies and 1.5 to 2 pound tippets.
When a 6 to 8 pound trout hits, he wins the battle very quickly.

Also, they are so shy of lines, indicators, leaders and tippets by this time of the year. They will just let mopst flies float on down past them. It is really frustrating to see 15 to 30 native rainbow from 24 to 30+ inches out about 1 foot under the surface feeding on a such a small bug you can't see it.

Last time I was up I changed flies 30 times in 3 hours of fishing and only got two strikes. The trout were about 30 inches long and just snapped those little 1.5 pound tippets as soon as they felt the hook and any pressure.

Lots of Democratic pressure on Republicans in Oregon, and the central issue for Democrats here as anywhere else is getting their hands on OUR money. If they have our money, they control us.

What Mannix has to focus on is conservative values -- lowering taxes and protecting private property -- ....then he'll have Oregonians behind him 100%.

Those leaking seals are the pits... weI had one in our Berkeley house...

I installed a new parquet hardwood floor in my wife's bathroom last year, fortunately the seal wasn't leaking.
I installed a fresh seal...the floor looks great and Barb loves it! :)

We're getting mucho rain up here, too...we love it!

Oregon needed mucho rain. My son was down for a week after the election. He was still tanned and didn't have moss on his north side.

In fact there were forest fires all over Oregon when he left and went back.

We needed rain too. In typical California fashion, we have gone about 8 weeks without any. Now we will make up the shortfall in a few days.

Have a good weekend.
