I don't see him as indifferent, I see him as sensible. The virus supposedly causes cervical cancer at one end and *possibly* mouth cancer at the other. Now, I am not a doctor, but it is very obvious that while there are differences between male and female sex organs, there is absolutely no difference between male and female MOUTHS. So a female with the virus could transmit it to a partner that way, as easily as a man could. They're taking an equal risk in that case, and a very small risk at that.
And swearing off oral sex would not prevent his wife from getting cervical cancer (that's assuming one had the virus and infected the other). So again, are you suggesting that NO SEX is the way to go?
Doesn't sound like a lot of fun for either of them.
Actually sex between a husband and wife is a minor issue here..women are more greatly affected by a multitude of sex partners, or a cheating husband brining the virus home (stats show this ) His penis is not affected by the cancer causing virus only his "partner's or "partners" cervix ...
The issue with cervical cancer is one specific virus KNOWN to cause Cervical cancer (easily diagnosed early with regular pap smears)
IF you read the article it speaks to an increase in the FEMALE rate increase ....an indicator that the woman is at risk because she is the recepticle...
This article is a WARNING to women that this practice (often used by singles to prevent pregency )could be deadly .
I simply find the hand wringing by men interesting ..more afraid of losing their favorite sex than the potential risk to a woman . (dare I say a condom would remove the risk? Ahhh but that would not be FUN either)
