Capitol Hill (CNSNews.com) - Results from the congressional inquiry into alleged intelligence failures leading up to the 9/11 terrorist attacks released Wednesday indicate a number of systemic problems with U.S. intelligence gathering, analysis, sharing, and response. The report was introduced with a somber warning from the co-chairman of the Joint House-Senate Intelligence Committee probe. "It is almost a certainty that, in the coming months, Americans will face another attempted terrorist assault; an assault that could quite possibly be on the same scale as that of September the 11th, 2001," Sen. Bob Graham (D-Fla.). "It is a certainty that such an attack will be attempted," Graham continued. "The question is whether we'll do a better job of intercepting it before it kills more people than we did prior to September the 11th." Graham made those remarks prior to releasing the declassified version of the Joint Committees' findings and recommendations. "The important point is that the intelligence community, for a variety of reasons, did not bring together and fully appreciate a range of information that could have greatly enhanced its chances of uncovering and preventing Osama Bin Laden's plan to attack these United States on September 11th, 2001," the committee's report states. I wish our public servants would start investigating the strange behaviour of the sun. Is it going to rise in the East tomorrow or not or rise somewhere else?

i guess this would be preferable to what they've been doing -- navel gazing.
...and upon roll call vote, the innies have it.

Chaos may well turn around and bite the Controllers on their collective ass.
Social order and the rule of law are the primary forces that now stand in the way of the lynching by long-suffering patriots of these politiwhores from a street light near you.....

I agree with you. These hearings and studies are really trying to figure out how we can still have a handful of patriots in the FBI, and how they ever gained any access to any intelligence at all. They are trying to plug the leaks to the public.
If they were at all serious about protecting the country, they'd take control of the borders and immigration and stop funding the terrorist states.

Whata waste. I could have told them this for free. Somehow the Hollywood ninnies who signed the anti-war letter need to read this report since its not obvious to them either.

Pretty soon everyone will be working for the government except six farmers, two truck divers and a grocery clerk. LOL!!

About basements ... at least you've got one! Most of us folks here in Phoenix just have a concrete slab that our house sits on!! There are some buildings downtown with underground parking, but the basement as I knew it in Wisconsin is only in other parts of the country!!

Graham is as useless an idiot as Byrd and Lott.
You think Al Qaeda may actually TRY to attack us, Bob? Hold the presses.

I BET Congress ignores their role in the Intelligence MESS THEY created!
Congress exerted political pressure on ALL Law Enforcement Agencies to stay away from religious investigations - even if they were an OBVIOUS SHAM; Congress, for years, failed to approriate funds for computers for INS - their solution was to make ILLEGALS citizens; the FBI has been screwing up for years - remember Ames and the other CIA agents the FBI was supposed to feret out AND DIDN"T - now their PR shows them arresting the turncoats; Congress had the CIA pull in field agents and to rely on computers (you idiot Congressmen - Garbage in Garbage out - remember that on computers.)

The report was introduced with a somber warning from the co-chairman of the Joint House-Senate Intelligence Committee probe. "Wolf Wolf," they said for about the five hundredth time. Of course, if they keep saying it, eventually it will be right, and no one will think to ask, "hey, if you knew it was comin' why didn't you stop it?"

In other news, Sen. Bob Graham and the Canadians have officially discovered that al-Qaeda may produce more manure, but it may not stink as much as the first time. (see Canada recognizes Hezbollah thread :) )

They spent HOW much money to determine that terrorists will attack us again??
I WANT A TAX BREAK DAMMIT.

I could have told them this for free. When was the last time a congressional investigation or congressional study told us something we didn't already know?
