As the incoming Majority Leader already said about himself, Senator Lott went too far.
He told me he would like to have his words back, but I took his comments as complimentary humour that often accompanies personal attributes.
His comments were as serious as the venue at which they were delivered-a birthday party.
We should accpet his apology, get out of our offices and do some holiday shopping.

I hope that this is not the end of JC's political career. Personally I'd like to see him as running for first Vice President and then President. Can you imagine a JC Watts/Condi Rice ticket! It would send the democrats into coniption fits!

Why didn't he run and do us a favor, saving us from Steve Largent's incomptency? Now, we have to put up with a preening little Democratic Governor from Oklahoma again. It won't be long before we start seeing articles about Governor Henry being Presidential material.
I still remember when, just after Bush took office, the National Journal's idiot editors published an editorial saying that it was nearly certain that we could see Governor Barnes, Governor Hodges, Governor Siegelman, or Governor Musgrove in the Oval Office in January 2005.
Yeah, that looks probable, you stupid liberals.
Governor J.C. Watts! The first African-American Governor in a generation!

Everybody on this forum hates Lott. And yes, he is an idiot and a RINO. But consider this: were it not for Lott's cowardly behaviour in the impeachment trial we would be saying "PRESIDENT GORE". As my old mother used to say... "the Lord works in mysterious ways..."

One of the funniest lines I remember from the 2000 election was that if the Democrats REALLY wanted Algore to be president, they would have voted FOR conviction! LOL!
Your "old mother" is/was a smart lady!

I have ALWAYS liked J.C. and hope to see him have a bright political future.

They wouldn't know whether to crap or go blind. Maybe they should close one eye and fart. LOL. You got that right. It would make the usual dem tactic of "all republicans are racists" look as stupid as it is. It may very well destroy the modern democratic party as we know it.

Yep.

Are you saying that Gore was a shoo-in if Clinton was impeached?

I think he would be a great senator or even the governor of Oklahoma.
