Here is an UPDATE from Hugh.

He picked up a cold in foggy old London-town, and the doctor here does not want to be chopping up some sick guy - who might be breathing germs all over him during the operation (!) - so they decided to postpone Hugh's surgery until mid-January.

Not to mention that if his immune system is already compromised by a virus, it's not the optimal time for further intrusive procedures.
