I voted and the "no" number stayed the same. You are right, a fake poll.

So where is the disclaimer for a closed, old poll that gives the impression it is open but really is closed?

Very funny........when I saw that poll this morning I posted that I believed it was loaded with 40,000 votes FOR Carter before it ever opened. I wasn't far wrong, it was a phoney baloney trick from CNN. Anyone surprised!!!

How dare you claim this was a fake poll. It was exclusively linked to the democratic underground and new york times websites for over 2 weeks prior to publication of the results.(or maybe a month, who knows since we just wait until the numbers come out like we want em) As usual you republicans/conservatives just jump on the bandwagon claiming we stole another election. You read the disclaimer, we just followed the rules.(for once)

Why vote no? Winning the Nobel Peace prize puts him in the company of mass murdering dictators and terrorists (Arafat, Mandela, Gorbachev, Le Duc Tho, etc. etc.). That's a fitting honor for Mr. Carter, don't you think?

President Jimmy Carter. You can't make it up. An incompetent fool. The worst President in U.S. history. Not corrupt like Clinton or even LBJ - just incompetent. I'd rather we'd had Billy as President. It could not have been worse.

Don't you figure it's more likely that there's some snafu than that the webmaster is conspiring to make it look like non-scientific polls show lots of support for Carter getting some prize?

Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were also recipients.

Teddy may have been a recipient before the corruption set in - not sure about Woody, since his had to do with the League of Nations, precursor of the UN.

Woody and Jimmy were probably a lot alike - pacifists, poor decision makers (needed lots of help, Woody from his wife because of his nearly incapacitated state during part of his presidency, Jimmy from . . . Billy? . . . Trilateral Commission? . . . David Rockafeller? . . . the Soviets?

Equals are equal. Your list is certainly "Equals" to Jimmy. (I do not honor him with the title "Mr Carter" or "President-give away the canal-Carter"

An incompetent fool.

... who was supposed to be so smart.

The worst President in U.S. history.

I wouldn't go that far. Wilson (IRS), or Roosevelt (New Deal) get my vote for that. President Reagan was able to undo the damage of the Carter Administration in a relatively short time.

I'd rather we'd had Billy as President.

That might have been interesting.

Considering all the bad decisions Carter made, I would guess no one. He was a micromanager who did not know how to delegate work. Recall in the 1980 campaign against President Reagan he whined about the job of President being too big for one man?

The only thing he had going for him was that he was honest. Smart? No. Management skills? None. Leadership? None. Honesty? Yes. I respected him for the "lust in my heart" statement he made in the famous Playboy interview.

Honesty? I have for some time now wondered if that was all a part of Jimmy's facade. His Playboy "lust" comment was probably a giveaway.

If we need proof, look at his reaction/non-reaction to Clinton's victimizing of women in the Oval Office and anyplace else he could get an opportunity. Jimmy never once did even as much as a "tsk, tsk".
