That is completely wrong. Illegality is certainly consistant with these things!

Give me an example if you will so I may see your point.

Prohibition. On Day X alcohol was perfectly legal and on Day Y it was illegal and then on Day Z it was legal again. Did alcohol transfrom overnight from a good substance to a bad substance to again being a good substance? No. Alcohol remained the same as it ever was, the only thing that changed was its standing before the law.

In North Dakota It is illegal to lie down and fall asleep with your shoes on.

In PA, You may not sing in the bathtub.

In NY, While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and fold his hands while looking toward the door.

Now, since these things are illegal, they are obviously bad, uncaring, and selfish. Why? Or am I right?

Are you serious? Yes, they could have been all these things. You need to apply them to the time they were contructed and use them in context!

There has to be a reason the laws were put into place no matter how stupid they may seem today. If your going to go singing loudly and badly in your bath at two in the morning in a hotel having no regard for the person in the next room needing to get sleep....that's pretty selfish wouldn't you think?
