Shortsighted as they were, at least the Senators back then were "jittery" upon contemplating the probable consequences of this Act. Nowadays most of the idiots in that august body (on both sides of the aisle) actually welcome the invasion.
Yeah, "jittery" was at least a sign they recognized the Immigration Act was a big gamble...because it was clearly stupid.
And today? If it helps destroy the heritage and traditions of the good ol' USA, our Senators vote FOR it -- yes, from BOTH sides of the aisle...
And just today I heard on the radio in West Hollywood it's citizens want to erect a WWII memorial for the troops...Soviet troops. I kid you not.
