All Manhattan Bridge and Tunnel crossings will have an HOV 4 (minimum of four occupants per vehicle) requirement in both directions, 24 hours a day during the week

Holy crap. Bloomberg sure tries his hardest to make himself unpopular.

Bloomie really ought to pick up a copy of Koch's old book "Mayor." Ed explains in great detail how to crush a transit workers strike and have lots of fun doing it.

Mayor Bloomberg is too tiny a man to be Mayor of New York.

Has any elected official ever been fired for gross incompetence?

I said it before the election, and Bloomie's certainly lived up to it:

The only good thing you can say about Bloomberg is that he's not Mark Green.

My wife and I can both walk to work, if need be, in less than 45 minutes. My kids can both walk to school in 10 minutes.

F*** the unions.

How would your emergency plan differ from the one put forward by the Mayor?

I have a better idea. Since the strike is illegal, fire every MTA employee who doesn't show up for work on day one. On day two, end the city's unemployment problem by hiring replacements.

Great shades of Ronnie - my sentiments exactly...fire the scum and make room for people who would be grateful for the work.

Forget about hiring replacements. Put a contract out to bid to operate and maintain the transit system. I guarantee you that a consortium of rail car and bus manufacturers (Bombardier, Grumman, and LTK Rail, for example) would jump at the chance to sing a 25-year contract to maintain the buses, rail cars, equipment, signal systems, etc.

How are you at driving subway trains? How many non-union replacements do you think there are to hire?
