Vanity Post: Is George S. Getting Tougher?

Sunday's ABC news show with George Stephenopolus and his grilling of AlGore.

Is it just me or did George Stephenopolus (sp) toss some pretty hardball questions at AlGore on Sunday's show. I was pleasently suprised when he tried to pin Gore down on his position on the war and where Gore would do different than W. Was it a momentary lapse, or a more fundamental change in coverage? Or was it simply the fact that Stephenopolus doesn't like him much? Any thoughts, Freepers?

I was under the impression that there was a fundamental tension between the Gore and Clinton camps - perhaps this is just an expression of that tension?

He is bought and paid for by the clinton's and what he does is a direct reflection of their desires.

I think a more appropriate test of ol Georgie would be to have him interviews ol crusty. Not give her advanced questions and then throw some serious hard questions her way.
Ain't gonna happen. Ol crusty wouldn't agree and if she did little Geeorgie would put his lips on her ass the entire time.

Maybe Boy George's testosterone is coming in.

It seemed to me that George's questioning was designed simply to be sure to give Al the ability to air all of his thoughts and grand schemes. Al appeared to me to have every opportunity George could provide to appear knowledgeable, masterful, and up-to-date on everything.
George and Al share a distaste for Bill Clinton. Both have been burned by him. Al couldn't wash Clinton's dirt off of himself during the election, and George left the administration under unfriendly terms. As I recall, there was no Clinton present at George's wedding.

If they were really interested in tough questions, they would have let George Will ask a few. GS failed to pounce when Gore tried to justify his change in stance toward Saddam since 1998, saying that Alqaeda was more important now. If Clinton/Gore had followed their tough talk in 1998 with real action against Saddam, and grabbed Osama when they had the chance, where would we be today? GS didn't go there.

"Maybe Boy George's testosterone is coming in."Next thing will be his voice changing and getting deeper (from its current soprano level).
