The antipathy between the two schools is such that there are people in this state who simply will not vote for an alumnus of one school or the other, regardless of party or ideology.

Hopefully this won't be the case. I went to the LSU game 2 weeks ago to wave Terrell signs. In encountered far more Terrell supporters in the crowd than Landrieu ones, who almost all happened to be the college student women's studies major types. Terrell had greater support from a cross section of the crowd in general, and practically every single one of em was a die hard LSU fan.

I would love to see the Tigers playing Georgia tonight. And if Brown Roots does lose, like I expect, I wouldn't be surprised if Nick Saban is accused of being a member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy for the way LSU choked at the end of the game last week. 8^)
