That opt-out option verifies that they have reached a valid e-mail address which adds your address to MORE lists. More often than not, the opt-out link is not a valid address. They are required by law to have that opt-out option, but obviously there is no follow-through.

What REALLY pisses me off is when they SPAM me, and in the SPAM tell me that it is not SPAM because I "Opted in" to their system, requesting that they SPAM me. ARGHHHHH!!!!! I've NEVER opted into any of these SPAMmers systems.
