Hil puts heat on Bush

Flanked by fire trucks, Sen. Hillary Clinton yesterday urged President Bush to free up $1.5 billion in federal funds earmarked to help local police and fire departments battle terrorism and enhance community policing programs.

"We have appropriated hundreds of billions of dollars to make sure they [the military] have the pay, the training, the equipment that they need. When are we going to do the same thing for our homeland defenders?" said Clinton (D-N.Y.) in a press conference at a Manhattan firehouse.

Clinton was joined by several police and fire union officials at the Engine 3-Ladder 12 house on W. 19th St., which lost five men in the World Trade Center attack.

The Bush administration has decided to delay releasing the funding for local agencies until Congress reaches an agreement on appropriations bills that stalled in the last session.

Detectives' Endowment Association President Thomas Scotto called on politicians to stop playing politics with the funding, saying: "Get the money down to us. We desperately need it."

A Justice Department official blamed Democrats, noting a Bush budget proposal that included $3.5 billion in grants for police, fire and other emergency services was shot down in the then-Democratic-controlled Senate.

Yes, it does. Remember, this is the beast who had her hubby pardon the FALN terrorists just so she could prostitute for Hispanic votes -- the same thugs who maimed and killed several of the NYC police officers that now she claims she cares about.

I'll never forget seeing one of the cops (who had lost an eye due to the misfortune of his being in the downtown tavern when the thugs bombed it)crying on Eyewitness News on Channel 7 after the pardons were announced. He was dumbfounded that any politician could conduct such an outrageously evil act, and for the express purpose of buying votes. Watching his face collapse in grief and tears, and hearing his anguish is something that still haunts me.

Pres Bush should do a courtesy return of putting heat on this criminal broad. As much baggage as she has, any one of 10 deeds should put her big butt in the pokey for a long time.

I'm still believing this gal was in DC on the day Foster died, and wondering why she refused to provide flight phone logs from her return trip from CA, when then-Sen Faircloth requested. I'm not saying she killed Foster, but I believe she knows who did, also that she met with Foster before his death, on the very day he died.

Gee, I wonder if those fire trucks are the same ones the people of Louisiana gave to NYC. We collected close to $1M, built and delivered two new firetrucks after WTC. They were a gift paid for by donations not taxes. I highly recommend it.

I have this mental image of hatellary frantically scanning the news outlets, seeking the next catastrophic murder attack against our civilians, begging in manic whispers for the terrorist to hurry up and strike so she can demagog a fresh.

There is something extremely disturbing about national figures openly salivating for the next assault that they know damn well is near impossible to stop at this juncture. I suppose it is the deeply ingrained anti-American perspective of liberalism playing out before the world.
