"Also unearthed in the grave were more than 20 cord-marked pots and many pottery shards." I'm trying to remember who is peculiar to this 'cord/rope' marking style. The Jomon is my first thought. (But, not positive.)

At 10cm by 40cm, they wouldnt hold much, let alone "a couple"
... maybe a couple of bones...
Thats about 4" x 16"...
Does that make it a coffin or a shoebox?
