Yesterday's stunning announcement that the Supreme Court will review two cases involving racial preferences at the University of Michigan strongly suggests that our long national coverup is nearly over. The education establishment may finally be forced to confront the real race problem--a national school system that is failing those at the bottom rung of the ladder.

The California Constitutional Ammendment has been largely ignored by the elites and Democrat controlled institutions of the State. Citizens and non-profits are suing, but that is slow going. They also just lie, as apparently the law school at U of M is doing, claiming they aren't using quotas but the outcomes still strongly suggest they are.

Not to mention this crap has seeped deeply into the business world. All fortune 1000 companies have diversity training and affirmative action stuff that they cram down employees throats. Even if these decisions change admission policies at state universities large corporations are not being freed. They fear (rightly) the types of lawsuits from the last decade or two where statistical analysis shows there are no female engineering VPs and they are forced to pay big bucks out to a entire group of people identified as a 'harmed class'. Forget that there were no qualified applicants, or few woman engineers 20 years ago would be in position to apply for the job, or even any individual actually harmed. It's all done w/ statistics.

Until there is a change in civil law, and big changes in the EEOC which sends people out to check "compliance" this won't fix much.
