True, but I have heard stories that would lead a person to believe that some particular leaders are not immune to corruption and deal-making that would benefit their business operations.

The trouble is, this could be hard to investigate, because most of these folks, if told to shut up, WILL shut up.

But the presence of the FBI in all of this has reportedly scared the bejeebers out of some of them.

That's what I'm hearing.

I'm more curious about it now too. I have a lot of friends among the hoots, the young men would often leave the colony for a short while after reaching 18, to make a little money and raise a little heck, and they would work as hired men for my dad from time to time. I'll ask, and I know who to ask to get a straight answer, he's a leader now but has been close friends of the family for 35 years. BTW, they are VERY leary of the government. They remember persecution in WWI very well yet.
