WASHINGTON President Bush warned Iraq's Saddam Hussein that he has until a Sunday deadline to prove he is serious about averting war. After the first week of United Nations weapons inspections, Bush said: "So far, the signs are not encouraging."

Why is the painted U N on the hood of the Jeep facing the drivers instead 180 degrees opposite so that the car can be identified by people OUTSIDE the vehicle? So that the bad guys can tell that they're driving away from the sensitive places.....

If we lived closer, we could share our micro brews and order a turducken to celebrate the event.
I hadn't thought about that. GW probably would not want to start bombing until the last NFL game is over.
Heck he might delay it until after the Monday Night Football Game is over.
John Madden could do his x's and o's and other graphics to depict what the biggest air attack in the history of man is doing to Uncle Saddams assets as they become ashes. Then Al Michaels could be the color guy. Then, they could send some good looking babes to interview Uncle Saddam and GW at half time to see what they plan to do during the second half of "Time for Uncle Saddam to say goodbye!".

Kidding aside, I DO have church obligations all Sunday. Guess it might be the best place to be. (Parish Hall has a wide screen TV, thanks be to God!)

This can only mean one thing.....No, more like,
"This is Geraldo Riv*----------"
"Geraldo? Geraldo? Oop! Well, we seem to have lost our signal from Baghdad, but sources tell us that bombing has indeed begun with daisy cutter bombs in the first wave..."

We'll make a very public fuss about Saddam's claim to not have "anything", and then we'll send inspectors and camera crews right to where we know he has at least one of something.

This is Geraldo Rivera reporting live from Baghdad. ewwwwwwwwww!
If Whorealdo really did this, I would stop calling him Whorealdo and ask for his autograph! Give Whorealdo a gun, he would shoot Uncle Saddam in a heart beat if he had the chance.

Great time to let them start (though by then I'd expect the Iraqi air defenses to have been seriously degraded for some time ;-)

Is this your annual Parrish Meeting day?
To: SamAdams76
Sam you are the FR master of understatement with this comment:
It would appear, after having read this article, that our President Bush is not entirely pleased with the progress of the UN inspections in Iraq.

President Bush is signaling D-Day is getting closer. Soon the UN Inspector Clouseau rope a dope inspection will be terminated and we can go on to crush Saddam. Its a just a matter of time now.

This is a great description of the UN Blix team:

I wonder if December 8th will become a day that will also live in infamy...

Good. I hope Bush is providing Saddam enough rope to hang himself.

The inspectors are irrelevant. December 8 and the list are relevant.
Why assume Bush doesn't already know where many of the weapons are stored ? Will the Iraqi's admit where they are ? Of course not. Will Bush let them have a pass ? Of course not.
Watch how this war is fought. It will be fought for the final effect, not for a traditional sense. The final effect is to have Saddam removed. It will be accomplished by removing his weapons. The "war" will be fought by Bush in a way that removes each storage location either until Saddam relents and gets honest (which isn't likely) or until he is removed, which is likely.

This is really an excellent analysis of what has happened and will happen in Iraq in your reply:

We can hope that someone in Iraq becomes the man of the year or woman and removes Uncle Saddam from the living parasites.

Just remember this isn't a gameOh, believe me, I know, painfully well. Call it gallows humor, call it nervous humor, but in any event, I realize this runs the risk of getting real ugly real fast.
