PRODUCTION VALUE (DNC paid $150 thou for Wellstone rally including x42's travel)

Apparently a picture is worth about a thousand words and $150,000. That's what it cost the Democrats to throw their memorial rally for the late Sen. Paul Wellstone at the University of Minnesota on the eve of the November elections.

The next morning, a picture of Bill Clinton laughing with former Vice President Walter Mondale at the event ran in newspapers across the country and helped set off what many consider to be a turning point in the Republican drive to take back the Senate.

In the end, Republican Norm Coleman defeated Mondale.

The tab, which included tens of thousands of dollars for video and sound equipment at the University of Minnesota's Williams Arena, was initially picked up by the Wellstone campaign.

But according to a Democratic National Committee staffer, a day before the event the national party promised to cover many of the expenses to ensure that the memorial service would be set up in a way to appeal to a national audience. "We're on the hook for at least half of that $150,000, is my guess," said the DNC source. "We're the ones who really pushed for an event that would play well on C-Span and on TV. You have to admit the production values were good."

The national party will probably also pick up the tab for Bill Clinton's appearance. It's like to reimburse the Wellstone campaign for the $16,000 it claimed it spent on "travel expenses" for the event. "That's probably all Clinton," says the DNC source. "Most of the other Democrats flew there on the government's dime."

Clinton was paid for his appearance at the rally? Nice pal, huh. He won't show up, even for a dead Democrat, unless he gets reimbursed. Watta slimeball.

< I>"Most of the other Democrats flew there on the government's dime."

Government’s dime? Wrong! It's the taxpayer’s dime. Someone should have a picture of the Clinton's in their usual and worn out photo-op, campaign smiles waving to the cheering crowd and post it. What tacky people they are and we are the dumb ones for allowing them to live in three houses they can’t afford along with their offices of grandeur, staffs and other perks and privileges. They milk the system for all it is worth!

It was planned as a political rally from the start as proven by the Wellstone campaign and the DNC paying for it.

This further proves the lie to what they've been saying since the "event" took place.

$150,000 would have been a bargain actually (if it hadn't backfired in their evil faces).

This is crass beyond belief. The next memorial service I attend I'll be sure to check out the 'production values'.

"You have to admit the production values were good."

This line wins today's "Laugh Til You Wheeze" award.

Uh huh...the production values were FABULOUS, buddy.

(it was the cast and the script that stank)

In other circunstances, that is to say if they weren't lowlife, conniving politicians, they'd be trailer trash living on the welfare rolls. Bill would be doing odd jobs in a No Tell Motel for cash under-the-table and Hitlery would be taking in other people's wash. They'd be living hand to mouth, swiping everything they could get their hands on to sell for eats.

The thought of them in our WH for eight years is just appalling. They sold the Lincoln Bedroom for cash. Hitlery bought her Senate seat with presidential pardons, and other crimes against the state. They disgraced every office they've ever held.

Mansions? They both belong in a homeless shelter.

Yes, but it cost the taxpayer so very little to get a Republican Senate back. What a bargain.

It did ... and it provided clear evidence to the national audience how pathetic the democrat party has become under the stewardship of Clinton's hand-picked slimeballs.

But But ... I thought this rally funeral was all the Welstone Family's idea ...

If so then why would the DNC have to pay for Clinton to attend the rally funeral of friend???

Oh and that government dime .. I guess that would be the 2 military planes that carried all the other Dems to this pep rally funeral ???

Do the taxpayers get reimbursed also???

I am SO glad those production values were good! That way we got a really GOOD close-up of Hillary and Bill and Fritz yukking it up at a memorial service! AND we got excellent sound of the booing of Trent Lott and Jesse Ventura!!

I am pleased that they spent the money on production so that we have PROOF of how low they sank! HA!

The Dumb-O-Insects keep lowering the bar.

I believe that the slime hole is a bottomless pit that the Dumb-O-Insects keep trying to find the bottom.

Did Terry Mcauliffe not state the day after the Memorial Service for Wellstone, that the DNC did not have anything to do with the planning of the event? Oh, Terry you have some explaining todo.

Travel Expenses for a Disgraced Impeached Ex-President          $16,000

Really Great Production of a Memeorial turned campaign Rally   $150,000

Turning Total Control of three branches to the Opposing Party....Priceless
