20 SS Agents????

Is that normal for a former President and if not why does he have so many??

How many does Carter, Ford, Reagan or Bush 41 have??

The agents have to provide 24 hour coverage, so working in shifts they would need at least this many if not more. Figure four on each shift, and an extra four in case bill and hill attend different functions at the same time. I would imagine there were other tax payer funded traveling with him also, such as his personal secretary.

I don't know how many Bush 41 has, but around '93 I was at a resort in Palm Springs and noticed a lot of guys walking around with earpieces wearing suits and sunglasses. Turns out that evening Bush was speaking to a group of Hispanic Grocers in the room next to ours. We were there for the company's "president's club" trip, and asked the SS if we could get him to pose with us and our plaques. He thought it would be funny, but said it couldnt be done since those guys paid a bunch of bucks for Bush to attend their event. I would say he had a minimum of 10, and that was just the guys I saw. On top of that there are the communications guys, etc., so 20 probably isn't out of line.

BILL Clinton made a celebrated trip to McDonald's when he attended the Labour Party conference in Blackpool but this week it was his bodyguards' turn for fast food. Bill and Hillary were staying at the Randolph Hotel in Oxford with no fewer than 20 Secret Service agents. But when the time came for the goons to refuel, they declined the hotel food. Instead two agents nipped out to a nearby branch of Burger King and returned laden down with Big Whoppers. The Mirror (UK)
