The breathtaking arrogance of the Republican congressional leadership in gifting the pharmaceutical companies and legitimizing offshore tax havens under the cover of homeland security is beyond contempt.

My letter to the editor in response:

Dick Hamblin (letters, Nov 29) exhibits the typical mindset of a leftist: he thinks the money that the federal government dispenses grows on trees, or perhaps simply appears of its own accord in the Treasury.

Allowing citizens to keep more of what they earned is "a lump of coal" as if redistribution of other people's money was a pleasant holiday gift from a favorite uncle.

The money he faults the Republicans for not flinging about in wild abandon was taken by coercion from taxpayers--the people who worked to earn it.

Where was this democrat shill with his head up his butt when Clinton was exhibiting "breathtaking arrogance" like no one in US history? Typical democrat, has a bad case of cranio-rectal inversion.
