You Can "Short" A Stock If It's A Dog, Are Booksellers Doing That With Susan McDougal's Book?
Amazon.com entry for McDougal's book ^

Notice that it's not even out yet and somebody is offering the same book as Amazon, but %20 less than Amazon. On Amazon's site no less!

It's ranked 76,630 now. Does that seller think it's peaked already? Because Helen Thomas wrote the introduction?

I predict this book hits the closeout tables faster than the Al and Tipper tomes.

I didn't even know she was going to have a book. Is it going to sing the praises of Bubba and the "evils" of Starr?

Is a Pope's ass pork? Is the pig Catholic?

Publishers fix the price of their books and sellers (Amazon, or you, or anyone else) can sell at any price they like. Rarely are books distributed with a fixed price that distributors must adhere to.

I'm involved with a book project now that has a SRP of $29.99. Amazon is selling it for $21.95, WalMart has it for under $20. We're projecting sales of 150k domestic, 100k additionally overseas.

Do bears wear a funny hat? Does the pope poop in the woods?

It's reversed. A pig's ass is pork and the Pope is Polish.
