Markham was the Captain of the Came-A-Lot Swim team on Chappaquidick when his buddy Teddy "Fat-Boy" Kennedy drove off the bridge.
Since the incident, he has had a charmed legal career in Massachusetts.
Being dragged in by US Marshalls to testify before a Congressional Committee would be a fitting end to his career if disbarment followed.
Likewise it will nice to see the runt of the Bulger litter dangling his legs from the witness chair. For such a brillant "classical" scholar, the corrupt midget sure was fooled by his brother "Jim".
I wonder if he'll testify in Pig Latin and need a court interpreter
Jeremiah O'Sullivan's been faking heart trouble forever so I hope we get to see him in a wheelchair with an oxygen bottle like the mobsters in "Casino".
The signifigance of these hearings should not be underestimated because they are seeking information that would tie organized crime and the highest levels of state and federal government in Massachusetts together.
If the fish's head smells this bad can you imagine what the tail is like?

I should have realized that Massachusetts' legal sysytem was a festering stench emitting sewer, what with the Kennedy's and the Democrat Party domination for so long.
Time for the good citizens of Massachusetts to call in the Roto-rooter team to clean up this fecal mess with investigations, indictments, and tort reform.

I joined Telex (Roger Wheeler's company in Tulsa) shortly after Roger was 'hit'. I worked for his replacements, Steve Jatras & George Bragg (it took two to replace him), until 1990.
When I finally heard about this FBI involvement, I just couldn't believe it. I hope they close this mess - sooner than later!

I'm afraid it's long past the time for Massachusetts citizens to do the job.
Tom O'Reilly, the sitting state attorney general, is at best a Bulger ally and at worst a willing stooge in the ongoing obstruction of justice by the Bulger gang.
I am no fan of the feds or their track record but in view of the existing conditions I'd welcome a federal takeover of the ENTIRE judicial system here til they clean up this mess.
(Then they could take a look at the $16 Billion Big Dig)

``From everything I could see, he appeared to have taken enormous steps to separate himself from the environment that led to his early misbehavior,'' Bulger wrote.Oh c'mon. It's not his fault. It's the fault of society. Poooolllleeeeeesssee!
He also said the ``lurid allegations'' about his brother's organized crime activities were made to hurt his own political career.
Oh. I see. It's all about his victimhood?
Gawwwd. Liberals are strange people! Please, someone slap that man back into reality!

Hell, just being Democrat politicians gives their crimminality away. Geezze.

When Criminal Rat politicians control key legal positions in any state, Al Gore's comment is relevant:
THERE IS NO CONTROLLING LEGAL AUTHORITY!

>Kennedys got their money running guns and liquer during the prohibition in the first place! They've been mobsters since the beginning!<
And I don't care how many lace curtains they put on their windows to improve their social status, they are still Shanty Irish!

I'd welcome a federal takeover of the ENTIRE judicial system here til they clean up this mess. How much is there that you don't want to know about Federal screwups?
Allowing a a federal takeover of the ENTIRE judicial system would be a guaranteed way to make sure we will never find out about Oklahoma City and Flight 800.

Markham owed his appointments as Assistant U.S. Attorney and as U.S. Attorney to RFK.
What's the salary of a president of UMass?

What's the salary of a president of UMass?
Last time I read about his salary it was a little under 200K a year, but it well be a little more than that by now.
I'm not sure if this quote was in Bulger's book or in a magazine piece from the 80's, but when once asked about his psychopathic serial killer brother he said: "There is much to be admired about him".
To: aristeides
Bulger's salary is listed in 2001 (based on a 6/30 fiscal year end) at $280,000 with no indication of a deferred compensation package.
Most interesting to us financial types is the detail: The compensation figures for other university presidents are derived from the IRS form 990. In the UMass case, the data came from the university itself. Eminently trustworthy I'm sure. (not).
Bulger's comp is below that of the other schools in the region with assets over $1B...other than Boston U. where the good father takes no listed salary.
The position for Bulger is more a political than financial deal; hang out with corrupt liberal buddies in the Northeast and enjoy the sinecure/backroom influence. Not that there aren't ample opportunities for off-the-books activity....
Blessings on Freepers Everywhere.

Excuse me. Many, a great many, of us are more to be pitied than censured. There are a great many "good citizens of Massachusetts." Unfortunately, just not enough...

we will never find out about Oklahoma City and Flight 800. Probably true my friend but I was talking about Massachusetts not the entire country.

And I don't care how many lace curtains they put on their windows to improve their social status, they are still Shanty Irish!I don't use the lace curtain description.
I like the term "Two Toilet Irish" when referring to this social class or even better "They have butter at both ends of the table Irish".

The University of Massachusetts: run by a professional gangster, brother of a professional gangster. How proud they must be...
