Try logging off, powering off your PC and rebooting after one minute when your PC keeps locking up.

Thanks for the suggestion, Gretchen. Powering off and rebooting is the only thing that works; it's just frustrating when it locks up repeatedly. I've never been able to figure out why I can go long stretches without it locking up at all, and other times it'll do it several times in a relatively short period of time. Another one of those lovely computer mysteries, I guess!
