Desperation.

Elian was not an illegal alienExactly - to all but the most uninformed, their blather is completely inane - you have Carvile ranting about the Republicans practising the politics of personal destruction, and you have Gore complaining about billionaires directing their media companies - a pot/kettle/black situation if there ever was one.

You're giving Alter way too much credit. Daschle looked stupid in his rant...Gore looks even more stupid in his rant. I hope they keep it up. The more they rant, the more stupid they look - and the sheeple are starting to catch on.

You know they are talking and planning these attacks, and of course they have a willing media to assist them! It's so obvious.

There is a strategy behind all of this. Obviously, WE (FR, dittoheads, conservatives, etc...) are NOT the target audience.
This is a carefully planned strategy to go after all the cracker voters...those who are ignorant of the way things really are.
The hope apparently is that the new Dem message (attack the conservative voice) will stick with those ignorant of the differences in philosophies.
It's a persuasive strategy of innoculation...

Where did Daschle, Gore and Hillary get the idea to attack Rush, Fox, etc.? From the lockbox.

Before "Hooverism" came Andrew Jackson.......
"You have no longer any cause to fear danger from abroad . . . It is from within, among yourselves--from cupidity, from corruption, from disappointed ambition and inordinate thirst for power--that factions will be formed and liberty endangered. It is against such designs, whatever disguise the actors may assume, that you have especially to guard yourselves.
You have the highest of human trusts committed to your care. Providence has showered on this favored land blessings without number, and has chosen you as the guardians of freedom, to preserve it for the benefit of the human race. May He who holds in His hands the destinies of nations make you worthy of the favors He has bestowed and enable you, with pure hearts and pure hands and sleepless vigilance, to guard and defend to the end of time the great charge He has committed to your keeping."

"Close the discipline gap. Republicans have long been better at developing a party line (for example "Tom Daschle is an obstructionist"), repeating it endlessly and using their allies in the conservative press and talk radio to drive the message home. You Democrats don't even send out emails to keep your folks on the same page.Hello Pot? Yeah, this is the kettle, and you're black!
What a truckload of Horse Crap!!! The dim's are definitely the most talented at towing the party line. The republican's, being the 'big tent' party has always had more dissention among it's ranks, and always had a tougher time getting everyone on the same page. The kool-aid kid dim's are getting more and more delusional by the day!! The dim's main problem is Bill and Hillary Clinton running the show. They seriously underestimate how poorly the Clinton's are regarded in flyover country. Don't tell them that though! If Slick, Hildebeast, and McAwful remain at the helm, we'll get to see a spectacular show come 2004!

Well... they are desperate.
And the bottom of the barrel is still there.
After all their lame "How long will a war cost?" and "How long will it last" asinine contribution to the debate went down in flames...

I guess Hillary hasn't been able to keep the media machine as well oiled as she did when her husband was in the Whitehouse, or maybe James Carville isn't so willing to work for her as he was her husband. I know that he was responsible for sending out daily talking points to an army of internet posters while Clinton was president. But, we all know that Clinton attacked the right wing media, following the OKC bombing. It's not a new idea. My guess is that Hillary is behind it.

Attacking Rush and Mean-Spirited-Talk-Radio seemed to work well in 1995. Of course, the timing would have been better next summer.
To: Hugin
I read that article too. Boy, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black (media repeating "talking points") I don't know what is.
Sounds like a bad case of projection to me. They do it then accuse us of doing it. The difference is that the liberals really do have a "theme for the day (or week)" that they try to push while conservatives merely pick up on what is really happening (Daschle is an obstructionist etc.)

. . . a pot/kettle/black situation if there ever was one.I swear, I posted the same thing before I even read your post ! !

It didn't help that I posted in a snippet from the wrong article. Cutting and pasting while on Sudafed can be a dangerous thing... :^)
