As he establishes himself as a world leader, Bush also benefits from low expectations.
Can't help themselves, can they? The article is full of positives regarding Bush. Positives coming from some of the most powerful people in the world. But this writer has to interject opinion.

"As he establishes himself as a world leader, Bush also benefits from low expectations." YES.....I noted that also, but it seems they want to perpetuate it......which maybe a good thing for us. They continue to "misunderestimate" him......wait until 2004, I have a feeling MAYBE, just maybe then, they will figure it out.....but I'm not convinced, as I'm beginning to be convinced that Dems are dumb.

You're right, the press can't seem to congratulate Bush without injecting their disdain. They treated Reagan the same way, but when he talked to crowds, they loved him... and the credibility of the press declines accordingly.
It's not just the US mainstream press that has egg on it's face, the world press increasingly looks foolish for ridiculing our president.

But this writer has to interject.... Yes, but please have some compassion on the liberal media. They are hurting beyond what they can stand, when W wins big time!
