The real problem is all the "La Dulce Vida" propaganda coming out telling people that they don't need kids to have a fulfilling life. I know a lot of europeans and they are mostly "eurotrash". They don't want to work too much, just want to wander and womanize, protest, take drugs, complain about america and drink and never ever ever have children. The only ones I don't consider eurotrash are the ones that had kids but they are rare.

Ironically the only pro-life party in Russia is the National Bolshevik party which, among other things wants to reunite the old soviet empire. They know that Russia is dying and want to outlaw abortion to increase the population growth rate for nationalistic purposes.

Not only that, but all of Europe is doomed. Only one European nation has above replacement birth rate, and that is Muslim Albania.

The Russians are not having babies but
their minorties are esp. their Muslims
minorties. The minorties are now
about 25 or so the population and their
populations are growing in real numbers
and the precentage of population rising
rapidly.
So by 2040 or so Russia well be a majority

Russian well come apart into a number

There idea that there is a direct relationship between wealth and birth rates does not hold true. Some of the Arab countries have very high birth rates AND have incomes comparable or higher than the best European countries. I think the birth rates are dependant upon religion. Secular people have the lowest, then the Christian and finally the bunny humping Muslims. The Yugoslavians and the Macedonians are the poorest people in Europe, excluding the ex-Soviet countries. Every country that is Muslim have birth rates over 19 per 1,000. Every non-Muslim country in Europe have birth rates 12 or below per thousand.

You realize, of course, that this has been said of Roman Catholics and others. It may have a basis in fact, but it is not universal and unchangable.
