President Bush ended his European trip today with speeches in Lithuania and Romania. Bush was greeted in both places with large crowds of people, including estimates in Romania of 50,000 plus. And in what can only be called an emotional and uplifting moment, the crowds in Romania were treated to a rainbow as the President spoke. Bush responded with 'God is smiling on us.' The First Couple arrived back in Washington late this evening. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

That was a huge crowd in Romania to greet the POTUS and that was in the rain, and a freezing rain at that. That is what I thought this morning when I saw it .. WOW!!!

One other thing, Woodward clearly shows President Bush as a strong leader who takes in all the advice of his cabinet and makes his decisions and is clearly in charge. After reading "Fighting Back" and half of "Bush at War" it is clear that G.W. Bush is not to be crossed and has earned the respect of those around him. Methinks Woodward is quite impressed with Dubya's leadership abilities

Yeah- -W- has shown a penchant for mixing it up with the crowds, much to the chagrin of the protective service. -W- has grown comfortable with- "the man holding the highest office in America". It's really vulnerable to the front of -W- regarding the crowd line. Let's hope, no let's pray, that the uniformed protective services agents on the security portals and frisking details, continue to monitor the public with the utmost inspection prowess humanly possible.

That was my thought also .. but it looks like he has at least 2 vests on

According to Woodward, Rummy didn't think much of GHW Bush as the Director of the CIA, Woodward definately says there was no love lost between them

That was a huge crowd in Romania to greet the POTUS Did you hear NBC's Brian Williams dissing the crowd, stating it had been "bussed in" by the head of state?
Did you EVER hear NBC comment or mention how anyone in a Clinton crowd got there?
Reminds me of their claiming that the FReepers outside "Cheney's House" were "bussed in" by the RNC during the post election fight in 2000. Totally untrue, as the FReepers there can testify.
So, that is probably garbage. The people may have come on busses as that is the only mode of transportation many people there have, having just survived a half century of four year plans. And the crowd in the cold rain in Romania looked greater than the 5,000 reported.
Anybody got a crowd estimate in Lithuania?

I personally would take Woodward with a grain of salt. I wouldn't trust what he has to say about any Republicans.

Welcome! I sure hope you have a good time here. You NEED to have all of your housewifely duties done before logging on to FR......
or your place will look like mine does.
This is very very addicting. And fun. And informative. And Rintense's thread (this one) is the BEST!!!!
